Eat Some Cherries and Call Me in the Morning.

Don't let its small size fool you: the cherry is a little giant when it comes to healthy eating.

Researchers report that quercitin, a compound found in cherries, can help hold off cancer and prevent heart disease. Other compounds found in cherries can reduce pain by blocking inflammatory enzymes; they're of particular help against gout and arthritis. And cherries are good sources of boron which, along with calcium and magnesium, promotes good bone health.
